Westlaw Asia

Westlaw is one of the major legal databases the library subscribes to. Westlaw will launch a new interface called Westlaw Asia soon.  It is a single platform for Asian legal materials and we will migrate to this new platform this summer. The Westlaw HK (current platform) and Westlaw Asia (new platform) will run parallel for a while until every resource has been migrated to the new platform. The U.S. and international legal materials which are currently available in Westlaw International will go to Westlaw Next. The access to Westlaw Next will be available later.

Compared with Westlaw HK, Westlaw Asia will include more Asian jurisdictions, i.e. India, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore, in addition to Hong Kong and United Kingdom legal materials. Westlaw Asia’s content comprises:

Hong Kong : Case Law, Legislation, Commentary, Journals, Current Awareness
India: Case Law, Legislation, Current Awareness
Malaysia: Case Law, Legislation, Commentary, Journals, Current Awareness
Philippines: Case Law, Legislation, Commentary, Current Awareness
Singapore: Case Law, Legislation, Commentary, Journals, Current Awareness
United Kingdom (UK):  Case Law, Legislation, Commentary, Journals, Current Awareness

The library has set up the access to Westlaw Asia on trial basis until 30 June 2015. Please click the following link to go to this new platform to taste the differences and enhancements!
